Deftones have scheduled a summer tour with support from heavy metal band Gojira and genre-blending artist Poppy

This summer is already jam-packed with major rock tours, and here’s another: Deftones will embark on a U.S. headlining tour over the warm months, and they’re taking Gojira and Poppy along as openers.

Deftones’ summer tour will set off July 27 in Portland, Oregon, and run through a Sept. 5 date in Denver, Colorado. Tickets for the dates go on sale to the general public starting at 1 p.m. local time this Friday (Feb. 14). Find ticket information at Deftones.com.

The night offers a mix of genres, as Deftones fall into the alt-metal world, Gojira is straight-ahead heavy metal and Poppy performs a mix of everything from electronic to alternative to hard rock.

“We’re super excited to have Gojira spending the summer with us, and Poppy will be a really fun addition as well,” frontman Chino Moreno said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to seeing everyone this summer. It’s been a minute.”

As for new music, Deftones most recent studio album is 2016’s “Gore.” The band — singer/guitarist Chino Moreno, guitarist Stephen Carpenter, keyboardist/samplist Frank Delgado, drummer Abe Cunningham and bass player Sergio — is currently working on a new album.
