Deftones’ 2022 Dia de Los Deftones Fest Sells Out in Days
Deftones’ 2022 Dia de Los Deftones Fest has already sold out
A few days ago, Deftones announced the bill for their annual Dia de Los Deftones festival, which is slated for Nov. 5th at Gallagher Square at Petco Park in San Diego, California, and the event has already sold out. In addition to a headlining performance from Defones, the festival will feature Turnstile, Phantogram, Freddie Gibbs and more.
The upcoming event will mark the third Dia de Los Deftones show, but the first since 2019, with the pandemic forcing the event to be shut down the past two years. It’s possible that the absence of the event made fans more amped to get their festival passes early and sell out the show. Other artists booked for the 2022 festival include Audrey Nuna, Destroy Boys, Provoker and Cold Gawd.
Looking through the lineup, there are a good number of bands that are underground and haven’t gotten the national spotlight yet. Part of the point of the festival is actually to introduce some new bands to the world. “We’re hyped to be bringing back Dia de Los Deftones this year,” Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno in a press release. “We take a ton of pride in curating it; it’s a chance for us to put forth and showcase some artists that we love and respect, and putting on an amazing day of music and culture for our fans. We’re excited to see everyone again out at Petco in November.”
In other news, Deftones wrapped up a North American tour in the spring, in addition to a handful of European dates in June and July. View the full 2022 Dia de Los Deftones festival lineup and find more information via Deftones’ official website.
