It’s only October, but that’s actually the time many musicians start to release holiday music. After all, radio stations often start flipping to Christmas formats on Nov. 1 or soon after, so if musicians want to get airplay, they better get their holiday treasures out early.

Goo Goo Dolls have a new holiday release on the way, “It’s Christmas All Over,” which will drop on Oct. 30. Longtime band members John Rzeznik and Robby Takac, along with drummer George Tutuska, have released the first of two original holiday songs off the set, “This Is Christmas.” Listen to the festival song via the YouTube player below.

“It’s Christmas All Over” is currently available for pre-order, and some packages with holiday-themed Goo Goo Dolls merchandise are also available.

“This album we dedicate to everyone, everywhere who still believes in hope,” Rzeznik said in a statement. “God knows we need a lot of hope this year. From the deepest part of our hearts, happy holidays from all of us to all of you.”

Goo Goo Dolls recorded “It’s Christmas All Over” early this year during lockdown. The set was produced by Rzeznik and the group’s frequent collaborators Brad Fernquist and Jimmy McGorman. In addition to the two original holiday songs, the album will include Christmas covers, such as “Let It Snow” and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.”

In other holiday news, country music star Dolly Parton released her new holiday album Friday (Oct. 2), “A Holly Dolly Christmas.” The set features duets with a range of musicians, including Michael Buble, Jimmy Fallon, Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus and Willie Nelson.
