Drowning Pool Get Animated on Music Video, Book Fall U.S. Tour

Hard rock band joins forces with video gaming company to deliver animated masterpiece

The guys of Drowning Pool have always been up for a challenge. For the Dallas, Texas hard rock band’s new video for, “Children of the Gun,” they’re skipping the usual video methods and releasing an animated video as part of the Machinima Music Video Series. Look for the clip to drop Aug. 22.

10th Street Entertainment, Drowning Pool’s music management company, is planning to work with Machinima, a video gaming company, on future videos for Crossfade and Nikki Sixx’s Sixx:A.M. Does this mean we should expect a music video in the style of Linkin Park’s classic “Breaking the Habit?” If so, maybe with a slightly harder edge.

iDuel2010 of Machinima, also known as Matthew Owen, described the Drowning Pool project as a “fun and exciting challenge.”

“The idea of showcasing big name artists on YouTube through Machinima is a huge step forward for music and gaming,” said Matthew, who also happens to be a big Drowning Pool fan from his youth.

Drowning Pool are touring for the remainder of 2011, including select dates with Burn Halo, Kyng and Echoes the Fall. They’re also planning to release a new album in 2012. Find Drowning Pool’s latest tour dates via the widget, below.
