Amy Lee and Evanescence uncover cover art for upcoming, self-titled release

Goth-inspired rockers Evanescence are the hot topic of the moment, as the band prepares to drop their new, self-titled album on Oct. 11. Now Amy Lee and company have unveiled the new artwork for the album, and the image, which you can view here, is simple, carrying the Evanescence name and the branded dark purple and blue color schematic.

Evanescence’s new single, the stormy “What You Want,” is the most added song on active rock radio this week, entering the chart at No. 18, according to the BDS Radio Chart. Classic Evanescence, the track brings a cloudy blast of hard rock and anguish pop, and it’s obviously striking a chord with fans.

In an interview with MTV News (via Blabbermouth), Lee said she, personally, loves the track. “…It’s so refreshing for us to play music that we want to hear. It rocks, and not that there’s nothing going on that does, but less and less; that’s definitely not what’s dominating the airwaves. And it would be so amazing and it’s totally our dream to have that happen for us; not even just for us, but, like, we want to hear rock music again.”

Evanescence’s last full-fledged tour was back in 2007, and the band played its first concert in roughly two years on August 17 at War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. The goth-rockers are back on the road this fall, playing a small handful of North American tour dates starting Oct. 10 in Oakland, Calif., and continuing through Los Angeles, Detroit, San Antonio and more. If your city isn’t on the list, no worries, Lee promises this is only the tip of the many shows the band plans to play in support of their forthcoming album, including shows in North America and overseas.
