Check out the list, below!
Nirvana, Nevermind Reissue
Nirvana’s sophomore full-length, Nevermind, not only propagated the Seattle grunge movement, but also took alternative rock into the mainstream, launching its commercial and social viability. With the celebration of the album’s 20th anniversary in 2011, Nevermind got a facelift and was re-released in “deluxe,” “super deluxe” and standard editions. Whichever package you choose is filled with hits such as “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “Come as You Are” and other goodies. For a full description, go to this spot.
Foo Fighters, Wasting Light (Vinyl)
With 2011’s Wasting Light, Dave Grohl and his fabled post-grunge group Foo Fighters scored another massive set of hits, including “Rope,” “Walk” and, most recently, “These Days.” By now, changes are any fan of the band has Wasting Light on CD or downloaded online. But, what about the vinyl version? Wasting Light is also available on lovely, durable vinyl online and in retail stores across the country, and it’s a set the Foo fan on your list may not have yet.
Pearl Jam, Pearl Jam Twenty Soundtrack
Pearl Jam celebrated 20 years of their breakout album, Ten, with the Cameron Crowe-directed documentary, Pearl Jam Twenty. To accompany the film, the grunge guys also released the Pearl Jam Twenty soundtrack, featuring 29 rare and unreleased tracks on two discs, hand-selected by Cameron Crowe with his personal liner notes and previously unreleased photos in a 36-page booklet. The set, also out on limited-edition vinyl, comes packaged in a hard bound book. (Nirvana photo credit: Michael Lavine.)
