Shinedown, P.O.D., Incubus and More Set for Rock on the Range 2012
Columbus, Ohio-based rock and metal festival announces 2012 lineup
Rock on the Range is back for a sixth year, and the annual Columbus, Ohio- based rock and metal music festival is ready to roar. Today (Feb. 1) the festival — which runs May 18-20 at Columbus Crew Stadium — confirmed a long list of headliners, including Incubus, Shinedown, P.O.D., Lacuna Coil, Five Finger Death Punch, 12 Stones, Rob Zombie, Slash, Megadeth, Chevelle, Theory of a Deadman, Mastodon, Cypress Hill and more.
Alternative rock band Incubus are currently out playing Australian shows, and Rock on the Range marks one of the band’s first 2012 U.S. performances. “Incubus is stoked to be joinin’ the killer lineup at Rock on the Range this year,” lead singer Brandon Boyd said in a release. “We’ll see y’all in Columbus.”
Christian rap-rock band P.O.D. played the festival last year, so they’re back to rock it again. The gents are currently working on their latest studio album with mastermind producer Howard Benson, and frontman Sonny Sandoval exclusively told Audio Ink Radio it’s coming along swimmingly. “We’ve been together for so long, and we have the freedom to go back and be who we started and who we are, and that’s all the elements of what we love, whether it’s metal or hip-hop or jazz or reggae,” he said. “We can just lay what we want. Whatever feels good. Just leaving everybody out of the rom while we create it.”
Like last year, the Friday before the festival will feature a free concert for anybody with a Rock on the Range weekend ticket. That should will offer performances from Hairball, Foxy Shazam, Hells Bells and more.
