King’s X drummer Jerry Gaskill showing signs of recovery

King’s X singer and bass slinger Dug Pinnick has offered up some good news regarding drummer Jerry Gaskill’s recent health scare. Gaskill, who had a heart attack on Feb. 26 and was immediately admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery, is showing some early signs of recovery.

On his official Facebook page, Pinnick offered an update to King’s-X fans. “Saw Jerry and he smiled and gave the thumbs up. He seemed to recognize everyone and seems on it. Really cool,” Pinnick stated. “He is having some difficulty with the breathing but overall looks sharp. Feel much better about this. Very excited. Just want to share that with you guys. Julie (Gaskill’s fiancé) is amazing.” That’s all good news for King’s X fans, indeed.

Gaskill’s official Facebook page also has some positive news regarding the drummer’s progress. “Jerry is moving along slow and steady. We have been getting lots of emails from people asking if we’re going to do anything here to help out with Jerry’s situation,” the post reads. “Just wanted to let each of you know that Wally Farkas and his team at Molken Music, have been working ’round the clock on a special Digital Download release, an a—kickin’ live performance from the early 90’s. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Jerry to help offset his medical expenses, which will be tremendous. Thank you to everyone for the outpouring of concern and love. Visit and like the www.Facebook.com/molkenmusic page to keep an eye out for the release. Faith…Hope…Love.”
