Rumors abound that Linkin Park and Incubus will tour this summer

Linkin Park and Incubus both came up out of the same post-grunge, early-2000s modern rock scene. That said, it’s hardly a big surprise that rumors are running wild that the two new rock mainstays are contemplating a massive, summer 2012 tour together.

According to the folks at the PRP, rumors abound that Linkin Park and Incubus will be going out on a full-fledged tour together this summer. Some Incubus band members recently slipped and mentioned the upcoming tour in some footage that has now been pulled. Let’s hope this rumor turns out to be a reality.

Incubus’ latest full-length — “If Not Now, When?” — arrived in July of 2011 and pumped out the alternative rock radio hit “Adolescents.” Since then, Incubus have toured the U.S. and Europe in support of the album, but doing a co-headlining tour with Linkin Park would certainly be new territory. Incubus are also set to headline Rock on the Range music festival this May in Columbus, Ohio.

Linkin Park’s latest full-length, “A Thousand Suns,” arrived in September of 2010. Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda and the guys embarked on the “A Thousand Suns World Tour” in support of the release, and they toured heavily to promote the disc through last year. The band are currently in the studio working on the follow-up to “A Thousand Suns,” so it’s possible this upcoming Incubus trek could be in support of Linkin Park’s new release. Only time will tell. Would you dig a bill featuring Linkin Park and Incubus? Let us know in the comments section.
