Alter Bridge’s Mark Tremonti gives update on new live CD/DVD, plus Creed and his solo project

Hard rockers Alter Bridge released their much-anticipated “Live at Wembley” CD/DVD on March 26, and chatting with I Heart Guitar,  Alter Bridge and Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti explained that the DVD showcases one of Alter Bridge’s favorite performances yet. “ …We shot it in 3D… Dan Catullo is a great director, it’s very well done,” he said. “I think we played about 21 songs on there, so it’s a very long DVD, and if you’re a fan of the band you’ll probably dig it!”

Tremonti says the DVD gives fans something to hold on to while Alter Bridge are on hiatus this year, making way for Tremonti, bass player Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips to get back with Creed and singer Myles Kennedy to tour with Slash. “ …It’s coming out right in the middle of the year, so it’ll give the fans something to chew on while we’re gone,” Tremonti said. “We also have some B-sides we’ve never released that we might put out at the end of the year, to keep people happy.”

Tremonti also has a solo album sets to drop this spring. It’s currently in the mastering stages. “ …I’ve already mixed it all, we have a mastering date with Ted Jensen, the best masterer on earth,” he said. “It sounds really nice. It’s the first time I’ve ever sang on a record, so it was a good challenge for me. It’s just fun! I’m a songwriter: I have lots of stuff sitting around that will never see the light of day unless I do something with it!… “ Catch the rest of the interview via I Heart Guitar.
