Ozzy Osbourne to Bring Ozzfest to Japan
Sharon Osbourne breaks the news about Ozzfest coming to Japan in 2013
Watch out, Japan: Ozzy Osbourne is coming to get you. It’s true: The famed metaller is making plans to serve some in-your-face metal mayhem to Japan in 2013, as the legendary metal festival will travel to the Far East for its inaugural showing this spring. Ozzfest Japan will take place on May 11 and May 12 at the Makuhari Messe, a convention in the Tokyo area.
Ozzy’s wife and manager Sharon Osbourne elaborated on the upcoming Ozzfest edition in a new video message announcing the show. “We are so excited,” Osbourne says in the video clip. “Please be there, ’cause we love you, Japan.”
As for who will appear on the lineup, that’s still a secret. The last time Ozzfest made the rounds was during its North American showing back in 2010, and it featured performances by Ozzy Osbourne (of course), Mötley Crüe, Halford, Nonpoint, Black Label Society, Drowning Pool and more heavy players. Word on who will appear on the upcoming Japan run is expected to surface shortly. We think As I Lay Dying would make a great pick, but only time will tell!
