Coldplay and Jay-Z to Play New Year’s Eve Show in Brooklyn
Alternative rockers Coldplay will play a concert with Jay-Z this New Year’s Eve
Are you ready for New Year’s Eve yet? Chris Martin and the gents of Coldplay are certainly pumped for the evening. The guys have just announced that they’ll play a special New Year’s Eve gig at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., alongside none other than rapper Jay-Z.
This won’t be the first time Coldplay and Jay-Z have joined forces, as Martin and the rapper collaborated on 2006’s “Beach Chair.” Jay-Z also made a cameo on a remake of the Coldplay track “Lost!” The two also famously celebrated New Year’s together two years ago, when Coldplay and Jay-Z spent 2011 at the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas. They also both performed at the 2012 Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony. Obviously, there’s lot of history between these two. Tickets for the gig will go on sale starting this Saturday (Nov. 17) at 10:00 a.m. ET.
In advance of the New Year’s Eve concert, Coldplay will play the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut on Dec. 29 and the Barclays Center on Dec. 30. Tickets for all three shows, which mark Coldplay’s last U.S. gigs for 2012, will be available via Live Nation.
