Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready says he hopes the band’s next studio album can arrive this year
Various Pearl Jam band members have given conflicting statements regarding when the band’s new album might drop, but guitarist Mike McCready knows exactly when he would like the album out: this year. Speaking with Premier Guitar, he explained that if it were up to him, the band’s tenth studio release would get out as soon as possible.
“I don’t know that everyone in the band feels that way, but I’m going to do my damndest to move it along if I can have any kind of say in it,” he said in the interview. “I would really like to get it out this year because we would really like to do some touring and things like that.”
McCready also says that the band has a recording session lined up for next month, and during that time, the band should be able to make a decision whether or not the release will be out this year. “We all decided to pull back a little bit after we had done about seven songs, which I think are going to be on the next record,” he said. “I’m not really sure. It all depends upon how this next session goes.”
