Imagine Dragons Always Writing New Music, Says Bass Player Ben McKee
Imagine Dragons’ Ben McKee says the band is constantly working on new music
Imagine Dragons already hold three alternative and pop radio hits with “Radioactive,” “It’s Time” and “Demons,” but they’ve only released one full-length album. As it turns out, the guys don’t plan to be a one-album band much longer and are working on new music that will possibly appear on their follow-up to 2012’s “Night Visions.” According to bass player Ben McKee, while the band has been out on the road for much of the past year, the guys have managed to write a handful of new tracks during any downtime.
“[Songwriting] is something we do every minute of our time, even when we have a brief vacation from touring,” McKee told Lehigh Valley Live. “We’re writing songs, literally, right now, not for any one purpose, but because we just love creating music.”
In other band news, Imagine Dragons are slated to appear at the second annual edition of Jay Z’s Made in America festival, which happens this weekend in Philadelphia. McKee says the band is stoked to play the festival. “We’re just going to get up there and do what we always do,” he declares. “Put every bit of energy into creating a show that’s strong and full of energy.”
