Watch Atoms for Peace Perform Surprise Austin Show
Atoms for Peace made up for their missed Austin City Limits gig with a show at the Moody Theater
Atoms for Peace were all ready to perform at the Austin City Limits Festival last Sunday but never quite made the stage, due to inclement weather. Nevertheless, the group — which features Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, Red Hot Chili Peppers bass player Flea, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, percussionist Mauro Refosco and drummer Joey Waronker — made good with fans by playing a show at the Moody Theater in Austin that evening. What’s more, fans can stream the full show right now via the Austin City Limits Festival’s YouTube channel.
At the show, Yorke and company played songs off their debut studio album, “Amok,” plus a cover Radiohead’s “Paperbag Writer.” The group also pulled out performances of one of Yorke’s solo songs, “Feeling Pulled Apart by Horses” and his collaboration with UNKLE, “Rabbit in Your Headlights.”
Atoms for Peace are currently on a North American tour and will wrap up the trek with two California shows: one at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and the other at Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara. For all things Atoms for Peace, had to the band’s official website.
