Hinder Splits with Singer Austin Winkler
Hinder frontman Singer Austin Winkler is no longer in the band
Hinder is currently singer-less. The rock band dropped a bombshell on Wednesday (Nov. 20), stating that they’ve “officially parted ways” with singer and founding member Austin Winkler.
“I’m really proud of what we accomplished over the years,” drummer Cody Hanson said in a statement. “We hold no animosity towards Austin, and wish him the best. Although it was a difficult decision, it was the best thing for everyone involved and time for us to move on.”
Hinder’s latest album, “Welcome to the Freakshow,” dropped in December of 2012, and the band has been busy on the road in support of the release. Winkler, however, dropped off the tour because of “personal reasons.” With Winker off the road, Hinder have played shows with a collection of different frontmen, including Saving Abel vocalist Jared Weeks.
Hinder have yet to announce a permanent replacement for Winkler, but chances are it will be one of the vocalists that have been filling in. For a list of upcoming Hinder tour dates, visit the band’s official website.
