Report: Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon, Eminem and Skrillex to Play Lollapalooza 2014
Lollapalooza to feature Arctic Monkeys, Eminem, Kings of Leon and Skrillex, according to the Chicago Tribune
It seems impossible to keep top-secret festival and tour lineups under wraps lately. Last week, rumors swirled that Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails would embark on a co-headlining summer tour, and sure enough, those rumors proved true. Now, it appears the Lollapalooza lineup has leaded, at least when it comes to the main headliners.
According to The Chicago Tribune, “industry sources” are stating that the 2014 edition of Lollapalooza will be headlined by Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon, Eminem and Skrillex. The acts aren’t incredibly surprising, as Arctic Monkeys, Eminem and Kings of Leon have already played Lollapalooza, and all the headliners fall into the alternative and hip-hop categories typical for the festival.
In other news, this year will mark Lollapalooza’s 10th anniversary as a single city festival. It got its start as a touring festival in 1991, was canceled in 1998, came back as a touring festival in 2003 and switched gears to a destination festival in 2005. This year’s Lollapalooza event will take place August 1 through 3 in Chicago’s Grant Park and will offer over 100 bands and artists performing on eight stages.
Tickets for Lollapalooza 2014 will go on sale starting March 25. For more information on this year’s edition, visit the festival’s official website.
