Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails Announce 2014 Summer Tour Dates
It’s official: Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails are touring together this summer
Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails have been delicately hinting at a co-headlining summer tour, but both camps have been fairly quiet about the possibility—until now. Saturday night (March 15), Soundgarden popped the news on their official Facebook page of an impending joint tour, stating simply, “Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails have announced they will be touring together this summer.” Tickets go on sale to the general public starting Friday (March 21).
The trek is set to kick off July 19 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nev., and hit over two dozen North American cities, including Toronto, Tampa, Dallas and beyond before wrapping up Aug. 25 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Death Grips will open. Check out the full lineup, according to Soundgarden, below.
Soundgarden is on the road in support of their latest studio album, 2012’s “King Animal.” The group is best known for alternative rock classics such as “Black Hole Sun,” “Rusty Cage,” “Spoonman,” “Fell on Black Days” and “Pretty Noose.” Nine Inch Nails are touring behind their 2013 studio release, “Hesitation Marks.” Nails also have a slew of alternative hits, including “Closer,” “Hurt” and “Head Like a Hole.” Both bands are also celebrating the 20th anniversary of their most seminal albums: for Soundgarden, that album is “Superunknown,” and for Nine Inch Nails, it’s “Downward Spiral.” Both albums arrived on March 8, 1994.
