The 10th anniversary Johnny Ramone Tribute will feature a bevy of rock talent
The upcoming 10th anniversary tribute show for late Ramones guitarist Johnny Ramone is on target to feature a plethora of A-list rock talent. The show, which will take place Aug. 24 at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, will feature a jam session featuring Duff McKagan of Loaded and Guns N’ Roses fame, Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols and Rob Zombie, as well as some surprise musicians. In addition to performing, Rob Zombie will host the event and also lead the all-star jam.

The show will also offer an appearance from “Portlandia” and former “Saturday Night Live” comedian Fred Armisen, who will be bringing his Ian Rubbish punk-rock personality to the event. Select items from Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett’s horror-movie memorabilia collection will also be on display, including film posters, film props, costumes and toys.
Ticket for the Johnny Ramone Tribute start at $19 and go up to $75 for a V.I.P. pass. Ticket are available via Ticketfly. Funds raised by the event will be donated to the Johnny Ramone Foundation and Dr. David Agus, who heads up USC’s Center for Applied Medicine.
Ramone passed away on Sept. 15, 2004, at the age of 55 from prostate cancer.
