Here’s the full list of 2015 Grammy winners in the rock and metal categories

The 57th Grammy Awards happened last night (Feb. 8), and the results are in. Most of the winners in the rock and metal categories were announced before the prime-time telecast.

One of the night’s biggest surprised was when comedy duo Tenacious D took home the Best Metal Performance Grammy, beating out longstanding metal acts such as Mastodon, Slipknot, Motorhead and Anthrax. Tenacious D won for their cover of “The Last in Line” by Ronnie James Dio.

Other winners included Detroit’s Jack White for Rock Performance for “Lazarreto,” alternative pop-rock band Paramore with Best Rock Song for “Ain’t It Fun” and Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament and more for Best Recording Package for Pearl Jam’s “Lightning Bolt.”

One rock category win was televised, and that was Beck snagging the trophy for Best Rock Album for the disc “Morning Phase.” Beck also scored the biggest win of the evening later on, Album of the Year, for that same release. He was shocked, in a good way.

In a move that’s a good sign for a rock comeback, rock veterans AC/DC opened the Grammy Awards with a high-energy, rough-and-touch show. Dave Grohl also appeared at the Grammy Awards to pay homage to “The Late Show With David Letterman” and introduce Beck’s onstage performance with Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
