Eddie Vedder and more famed rockers participated in a Who jam session for a good cause

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, Joe Walsh and Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen teamed up with legendary rockers the Who Thursday night (March 14). The concert, which took place at the Rosemont Theater in Chicago, raised funds to benefit the Who’s Teen Cancer America.

According to Rolling Stone, Pete Townshend performed two acoustic songs, after which the Who touring band strutted on the stage to perform. Singer Roger Daltrey was on vocal rest, saying to the crowd, “I can’t sing tonight.” Doctor’s orders. But we’ve got a whole bunch of fantastic guests lined up for you.”

A special moment happened when Vedder pulled out his ukelele to perform “Blue, Red and Grey,” off the Who’s “Who by Numbers.” Other highlights include Vedder’s performance or “Corrine, Corrine,” a Bob Dylan cover, with Pete Townshend, and an all-star finale of “My Generation” with Vedder, Pete Townshend and Nelsen.
