Sevendust to Celebrate 20th Anniversary of Debut Album
Sevendust have a hometown show up ahead to honor the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut
Sevendust celebrate a big anniversary in 2017, as the metal band’s self-titled debut album turns 20 in April. The guys are honoring the 20th year of their debut with a special show at The Masquerade in Atlanta on March 17.
Sevendust promise to perform their debut album from front to back at the show. The album includes the singles “Black,” “Prayer” and “Too Close to Hate.”
The band posted the news on Facebook along with show poster, stating, “Join us on March 17, as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of our debut release in Atlanta – back where it all started!”
Sevendust’s last studio album is 2015’s “Kill the Flaw,” which earned a Grammy nomination for the track “Thank You.” Frontman Lajon Witherspoon spoke with Audio Ink Radio about the release, saying, “I think the ‘flaw’ is everything that has tried to keep us down for so many years. The “flaw” would be obstacles we’ve had to overcome in life. I think as we’ve gotten older, they’ve gotten more obscure, but in some kind of way, we try to “Kill the Flaw.” It’s also a testament to how long we’ve been around and all the bad seeds that were in our pockets for a long time.”
