Rob Halford collaborates with Maria Brink for a track on the new In This Moment album

It’s official, guys: In This Moment have a new album in the can. The Maria Brink-fronted metal band will release their sixth studio album, “Ritual,” on July 21 by Atlantic Records in partnership with Roadrunner Records.

“It’s like we’re going into the next realm,” Brink said in a statement. “I had a conviction of feeling empowered in my life and with myself. I always write from a personal place, and I needed to share that sense of strength. I’ve never been afraid to hold back.”

She added, “Sometimes, I can be very suggestive. However, I wanted to show our fans that this is the most powerful side of myself and it’s without overt sexuality. It’s that deeper serious fire inside of my heart.”

The album’s debut single, “Oh Lord,” is currently available via online outlets. Take a listen to the single here.

Grammy-nominated producer Kevin Churko (Five Finger Death Punch, Ozzy Osbourne) produced “Ritual.” A press release promises the set “sees In This Moment pushing their inimitably dark sound forward with a provocative sense of pervading doom and metallic blues power.”

Among the original tracks on “Ritual” is a cover of Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight.” The album also includes a collaboration with Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford.

“When fans hear this, I want them to feel the music, whether they take away sadness, anger, or happiness,” lead guitarist Chris Howorth said. “As a kid, I remember listening to records and putting them on repeat over and over again. I’d love for the world to listen and absorb this as a piece of work.”

In other news, In This Moment have a North American tour up head starting June 20 in Peoria, Illinois. For information, visit Inthismomentofficial.com.
