Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Appears in New Linkin Park Video
The new Linkin Park music video for ‘Good Goodbye’ features NBA star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Linkin Park has a celebrity from the sports world appearing in their latest music video. The band recently premiered the clip for “Good Goodbye,” a track from Linkin Park’s upcoming new album, “One More Light.” Appearing in the video is none other than NBCA star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
The video shows Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington going head-to-head in a slam dunk contest, and Abdul-Jabbar is the judge. Bennington slam dunks away, while Linkin Park rapper Mike Shinoda walks into the court to rhyme the verses, along with Pusha T and Stormzy.
Shinoda told Genius.com that has passion for basketball helped inspire “Good Goodbye.”
“When I was writing this song, I wanted to capture that moment at the game when someone fouls out, and the cheerleaders sing and kick out the ejected player,” he said.
One More Light will arrive May 19. The album also features the singles “Heavy” and “Battle Symphony.”
In other news, Linkin Park will hit the road on a North American trek to promote the album this summer, beginning with a July 27 tour date in Boston. Two of the tour’s stops will be stadium shows with Blink-182: July 28 at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and July 30 at Hershey Park in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Additional dates will include Snoop Dogg.
