Halestorm’s new music video for ‘Dear Daughter’ is a tearjerker

Lzzy Hale and the Halestorm gang have unleashed a new music video “Dear Daughter,” which appears on Halestorm’s most recent studio album, “Into the Wild Life.”

While Halestorm are known for their aggressive hard rock and Lzzy’s towering guitar solos, “Dear Daughter” is a stripped-down piano ballad. Lzzy’s vocals have a pop character, and the lyrics speak to young girls, saying, “Dear daughter / Never lose yourself / Remember that / You’re like nobody else.”

In the video, young women are seen dealing with challenges in life, and Lzzy sings them words of encouragement. Watch the full clip below.

“I’m hoping that through this song, I can spread the inspiration and empowerment that has been instilled in me,” Lzzy said in a Tumblr post. “Carve your own path, ladies (and little gents too). I’m living proof that nothing in life is impossible.”

The Halestorm crew is also asking mothers and daughters to post their personal stories on social media with the hashtag #DearDaughter.

Halestorm’s summer plans entail a handful of festival shows, including Seether’s Rise Above Fest, RockFest, Express Live and more. Find the band’s tour roster and more at www.halestormrocks.com.
