Skillet Team with Lacey Sturm on ‘Breaking Free’

We’re nearing the end of the year, but Skillet is still churning out surprises. The Christian rockers have unleashed a new music video for their track “Breaking Free,” which features guest vocals from former Flyleaf frontwoman Lacey Sturm. Watch the music video below via the band’s official YouTube channel.

The video depicts a young woman dealing with a variety of emotions- everything from depression to anger to sadness. By the end of the video, the young woman is able to find freedom in “Breaking Free.”

“Breaking Free” is a track that’s featured on “Unleashed Beyond,” which is the just-released deluxe edition of the band’s most recent album, “Unleashed.”

In other news, the Skillet crew has spent much of 2017 on the road, and they’ll continue that trend all the way up to the New Year. The band will ring in 2018 with a New Year’s Eve concert in Lynchburg, Virginia.

“It’s fun seeing the fans singing the songs off the album out there,” lead vocalist John Cooper told Audio Ink Radio in a recent interview, when asked about his favorites aspects of performing live. “It feels like a real community. It makes me feel good. We hope to see a lot of the fans out there.”
