Guns N’ Roses Announce ‘Appetite for Destruction’ Box Set
Get ready for a massive Guns N’ Roses ‘Appetite for Destruction’ box set
Guns N’ Roses will be unleashing a major “Appetite for Destruction” box set on June 29. To tease the news, the band posted a countdown clock onĀ GNR.fm, which was set to expire this Friday, May 4, stating that “Destruction Is Coming.” While the clock got fans wondering if Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan would join forces with “Appetite” guitarist Izzy Stradlin and drummer Steven Adler for a tour or new music, it seems that the box set was what the clock was teasing.
An un-boxing video depicting the package was unleashed early via the Guns N’ Roses YouTube channel and then, fairly quickly, taken down. Thankfully, the video was captured by fan site GNRCentral before it was pulled with all the details.
As depicted in the video, the box set will pack four CDs with a total of 73 songs, a whopping 49 of which were never before released. The set also includes the original 1987 album on two vinyl LPs, seven yellow vinyl singles, the “Live Like a Suicide” EP, some b-sides and “Sound City Session,” the latter which features 25 fresh tracks from the 1986 session.
Aside from the tunes, the box set — officially titled “Appetite for Destruction: Locked N’ Loaded Edition” — packs some Guns N’ Roses memorabilia, such as guitar picks, stickers, replica flyers and ticket stubs and more. Everything is packaged in an “embossed faux leather and wood cabinet.”
As of now, it appears the box set is exactly what the countdown clock was teasing. That leaves fans hoping for another announce that might include Stradlin and Adler, such as a tour or new music. Time will tell if those wishes pan out.
