Michael Sweet – Story by Charles Ken

Michael Sweet of Stryper is back with his tenth solo album, “Ten,” and it features guest appearances from members of Whitesnake, Arch Enemy and more

Stryper frontman Michael Sweet has announced his tenth solo studio album, “Ten,” will arrive on Oct. 11 via Rat Pak Records. The album follows his 2016 solo release, “One Sided War.”

Sweet’s upcoming album will feature a bevy of guests from the rock and metal world, including Joel Hoekstra of Whitesnake, Jeff Loomis of Arch Enemy, Todd La Torre of Queensrÿche, Andy James, Tracii Guns of LA Guns, Rich Ward of Fozzy, Gus G of Firewind, Howie Simon, Ethan Brosh, Marzi Montazeri, Will Hunt of Evanescence, John O’Boyle, Mike Kerr and Ian Raposa of Firstbourne and more.

“There is a different player appearing on every song,” Sweet said of the new album in a statement. “It started out where I was just going to have a couple of guest appearances on it, then I decided that it would be really interesting to bring in different players for every song. I started putting names out there and reaching out to people, and they started agreeing to do it. And then I had guys reaching out to me.”

Sweet produced “Ten,” and Danny Bernini recorded and mixed the set at the Spirithouse Recording Studio in North Hampton. Alex Saltz mastered the collection.

“I’m very excited about this release, there are old-school, straight-ahead metal ideas in the vein of Judas Priest, Dio and Iron Maiden,” Sweet said, “all the stuff I love listening to!”
