Pearl Jam, Slipknot, U2 and More to Offer Record Store Day Black Friday Releases
Record Store Day Black Friday will offer special releases from Pearl Jam, Slipknot, U2 and more
The official roster of releases for 2019’s Record Store Day Black Friday is here. The list features a bevy of rock and metal releases that will be available exclusively in local, brick-and-mortar record stores on Black Friday, which falls on Nov. 29 this year.
Pearl Jam is offering a big release for die-hard fans, as the band’s 1992 “MTV Unplugged” performance will be offered on vinyl for the first time for RSD Black Friday. Masked metal band Slipknot will unleash a seven-inch picture disc with “Unsainted” — the debut single off the band’s new album, “We Are Not Your Kind” — with the single “All Out Life.”
Tenacious D and Jack White recently collaborated on some tunes, and the duo will release a seven-inch single with two songs, “Don’t Blow It” and “Kage,” both of which were produced by White, for RSD Black Friday. Paul McCartney will release a seven-inch single with “Home Tonight” and “In a Hurry,” two previously unreleased tunes recorded during the sessions for his 2018 record, “Egypt Station.”
Bono and the guys of U2 will reissue their 12-inch single, “Three,” that originally was offered in Ireland in September 1979 and sold out almost immediately upon release. It offers the tracks “Out of Control,” “Stories for Boys” and “Boy-Girl.”
Additional artists releasing vinyl for Record Store Day Black Friday include Alice Cooper, Dio, Sammy Hagar, Jimi Hendrix, Kings of Leon, Geddy Lee, Black Label Society, Liam Gallagher, Life of Agony, Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Sublime and more.
