Def Leppard and ZZ Top to Embark on Fall Tour
Def Leppard will head straight off the band’s tour with Motley Crue and pick up with a new round of tour dates with ZZ Top
Def Leppard already has a major tour with Motley Crue, Poison and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts on the horizon, but the popular ’80s rockers just announced they will also be hitting the road with ZZ Top.
The 20/20 Vision Tour will set off Sept. 21 in Albany, New York, and run through an Oct. 18 show in Spokane, Washington. The tour comes right after Def Leppard aforementioned summer tour with Motley Crue, dubbed The Stadium Tour, which will run from a June 18 show in Jacksonville, Florida, through a Sept. 5 date in Inglewood, California.
Tickets for the Def Leppard and ZZ Top fall tour dates will go on sale to the general public starting 10 a.m. local time on Friday, Feb. 21, via LiveNation.com.
“What a year this is going to be! First, sold out stadiums, then we get to go on tour with the mighty ZZ Top!” Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott said in a statement. “Having been an admirer of the band for a lifetime it’s gonna be a real pleasure to finally do some shows together…maybe some of us will get to go for a spin with [ZZ Top’s] Billy [Gibbons] in one of those fancy cars.”
ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons added, “We’re excited about hitting the road with Def Leppard this fall; we’ve been fans of theirs since forever…Joe Elliott is always welcome to ride ‘shotgun’ with us and we won’t even ask him to pay for the gas.”
