Motorhead Prepping 40th Anniversary ‘Ace of Spades’ Box Set with 42 Previously Unreleased Tracks
Motorhead’s seminal “Ace of Spades” record turns 40 this year, and to celebrate, the band is releasing a box set package with some bonus items
A special box set package of Motorhead’s seminal 1980 album “Ace of Spades” will be released this autumn in honor of the album’s 40th anniversary.
The expanded edition, which boasts 42 previously unreleased tracks and some unique Motorhead goodies, and will arrive Oct. 30.
“Ace of Spades,” the box set, will feature a new master of the original album, two live albums, outtakes and rarities, a 10-inch vinyl EP highlighting a set of instrumentals from 1980, a double album of B-sides and a DVD featuring various Motorhead TV appearances in 1980 and 1981. The collection will also include some memorabilia, including a 40-page Motorhead book, a tour program and, of course, poker dice.
Along with the news of the box set, Motorhead have also released a live version of the song “Ace of Spades” from 1981, which is available now on digital outlets.

“Ace of Spades” is Motorhead’s fourth studio album and was released in November 1980 via Bronze Records. It went gold in the U.S. in March 1981. It was also the band’s debut album in the U.S.
Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister passed away in December 2015 after a battle with cancer.
