After a few weeks of teasing a new song on the way, Evanescence have debuted a new track called “Use My Voice,” featuring a bevy of female talent.
“Use My Voice” features Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee alongside Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, The Pretty Reckless’ Taylor Momsen, Within Temptation’s Sharon den Adel, violinist Lindsey Stirling and VERIDIA’s Deena Jakoub.
Other appearances in the song include Lee’s two sisters, Carrie South and Lori Lee Bulloch, and Amy McLawhorn, who is married to Evanescence guitarist Troy McLawhorn.
“This is an era of awakening, and full of powerful beauty” Lee said in a statement. “I hope to inspire others to seek truth, find their own voices and use them as I step up to use mine. Don’t let anybody speak for you. Only you can do that.”
“Use My Voice” is available for download now via digital outlets.
Evanescence also recently partnered with the non-partisan organization HeadCount to launch the Use My Voice voter registration campaign.
“For many Americans, voting is too often an intimidating experience,” Lee said in a statement. “We all saw the long lines in certain precincts in Georgia during their recent primary. Unfortunately, what happened there is not unique in America. It happens all the time, especially in under served communities in our country. Now, add COVID into the mix and you have the perfect combination of factors to continue to suppress the voice of the people.”
