Christmas songs from P.O.D., 10 Years, Black Stone Cherry and more are on the way in a new holiday EP from Mascot Records called “Christmas Rocks”
The holidays are on the way, and P.O.D. is getting in on the holiday spirit with a new, original Christmas song called “Christmas Lullaby.” The song features soft acoustic guitar, an upbeat melody and singer Sonny Sandoval crooning, “It’s still Christmas / Sacred love Devine / One thing have I is a Christmas lullaby.” Listen to the full song and watch the lyric video via YouTube below.
“Christmas Lullaby” will appear on an upcoming holiday EP from Mascot Records, titled “Christmas Rocks.” The set is a compilation featuring a variety of rock bands off the Mascot Records label, including Black Stone Cherry, 10 Years, Otherwise, Crobot, Dragged Under and Ayreon.
“With limited time we went into the studio under the impression we were supposed to record a Rock & Roll, novelty, holiday jingle,” P.O.D. frontman Sonny Sandoval said in a statement.
He added, “To our surprise we came out with a Christmas lullaby that will prove, in time, to be a classic, timeless holiday song that will always be a part of your special Christmas memories from now on.”
Mascot Records plans to release one new song off the Christmas EP every week leading up to Christmas. More artists are expected to be announced for the collection, as well.
