Listen to classic rocker Stevie Nicks and pop star Miley Cyrus collaborate on a new mashup, “Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix)”

Stevie Nicks and Miley Cyrus seem to be fast friends. A while back, Nicks let Cyrus use a sample of her classic solo song, “Edge of Seventeen,” on Miley’s latest single, “Midnight Sky.”

Now, the two are joining forces for a special mashup of the two songs, “Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix).” The mashup brings together Nicks’ and Cyrus’ vocals and mixes the music and lyrics of both songs. It’s definitely an unexpected collaboration, as Nicks is considered one of classic rock’s biggest names, and Cyrus is all pop.

Nicks took to social media to express her excitement over the collaboration, stating, “Duet with @MileyCyrus…Magical! Loved singing with her!”

Cyrus also took to Twitter to explain how much it meant to work with the legendary Nicks, stating, “@StevieNicks has always been my idol & an inspiration. It’s an honor to now call her my friend and collaborator.”

“Midnight Sky” and “Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix)” will both arrive Cyrus’ upcoming, seventh studio album, Plastic Hearts, which is due out Nov. 27.

In addition, Cyrus recently told Interview Magazine that she’s working on a Metallica covers album. “We’ve been working on a Metallica cover album, and I’m here working on that,” she said. “We’re so lucky to be able to continue to work on our art during all of this. At first, it felt uninspiring and now I’ve been totally ignited.”
