Slipknot Plan to Take Knotfest to Brazil, Chile and Columbia in 2021
While 2020 saw few concerts and festivals, Slipknot plan to turn that around in 2021, with their Knotfest event scheduled to happen in several different countries
Concerts and festivals are currently on hold, but Corey Taylor and Slipknot are banking on normalcy returning next year, as the metal band has unveiled details for the debut Knotfest Brazil. The event is scheduled to happen on Dec. 19, 2021, in São Paulo, with Slipknot headlining. A full lineup will be announced as the date draws closer. For more details, head to Knotfest.com.
This isn’t Slipknot’s only 2021 festival appearance. The masked metal band is also scheduled to take Knotfest to Chile and Colombia next year.
Slipknot were also set to launch a U.S. Knotfest Roadshow tour in 2020, plus the debut Knotfest U.K. and Knotfest at Sea concert cruise, but those dates were canceled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In other news, after several months of teasing, Slipknot’s Funko Pop! figures are ready. Just in time for the holiday shopping season, the toy manufacturer has announced its Funko edition of Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, turntablist Sid Wilson and samplist Craig Jones are available for pre-order now via SlipknotMerch.com. Items are expected to ship in early 2021.
The Funko Pop! figures feature each band member sporting the famed masks designed for Slipknot’s most recent album, 2019’s “We Are Not Your Kind.” The toy company first announced the figures back in January, and the toys were expected to be released back in August, so fans have been wondering when the official announcement would happen.
So, will the rest of the members of Slipknot also get the Funko treatment? Along with the release of the initial three figures, the band is hinting, “Stay tuned for more to come.”
