Motorhead Prepping ‘Louder than Noise…Live in Berlin’ Concert Movie
Motorhead, “Louder than Noise…Live in Berlin,” features footage from the legendary band performing at the German capital in 2012
Anyone who has witnessed a Motorhead concert knows the band was a force to contend with on the stage. In that spirit, a new Motorhead live album and concert movie called “Louder than Noise…Live in Berlin” has been announced and will hit stores on April 23.
“Louder than Noise…Live in Berlin” features the band’s final lineup of frontman Lemmy Kilmister, guitarist Phil Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee, rocking out at the German capital in 2012. This was the lineup that spent “decades cracking sound barriers, bending ears and decimating lawns worldwide, consistently delivering the Motorgospel to hundreds of thousands of fans,” reads a statement. It was also Motorhead’s longest-running lineup.
The Berlin show was one of Motorhead’s largest ever in Germany, as the rock ‘n’ rollers performed to 12,000 fans on their Kings of The Road Tour. In advance of “Louder than Noise…Live in Berlin,” the band has released a “Louder than Noise” version of the song “Over the Top,” which can be streamed via YouTube below.
“Louder than Noise…Live in Berlin” was filmed by Herwig Meyszner with a multi-camera approach that promises to capture Motorhead’s live energy on tape and offer a “welcome reminder of what real rock ‘n’ roll is truly about.” Meyszner has quite a resume, as he’s produced concert films for metal legends Saxon, Exodus and Kreator.
Three years following the 2012 show, Motorhead headed back to Berlin in December 2015 to play what would prove to be their final show ever. Kilmister passed away at the end of 2015 at age 70.
