Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 Announces He’s ‘Cancer Free’
Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus is officially “cancer free,” according to his doctors
Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 has been battling cancer, and Wednesday (Sept. 29), he shared the good news that fans were hoping to hear. Hoppus took to social media to announced that he’s officially “cancer free.”
In an Instagram message, Hoppus stated, “Just saw my oncologist and I’m cancer free!! Thank God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love. Still have to get scanned every six months and it’ll take me until the end of the year to get back to normal, but today is an amazing day and I feel so blessed. Can I get a W in the chat?”
Hoppus broke the news of his cancer diagnosis back in June. At the time, he told fans that he was scared but going to put up a fight, saying, “For the past three months I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. I have cancer. It sucks and I’m scared, and at the same time I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this. I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I’m trying to remain hopeful and positive. Can’t wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the hopefully near future. Love to you all.”
He added that he was diagnosed with cancer in late April 2021 with stage 4-A Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. It’s the same kind of cancer that his mom had previously fought and conquered. Recently, Hoppus shared that he had finished all of the rounds of chemotherapy prescribed by his doctor and was waiting for a scan that would happen on Sept. 29 to find out if the chemotherapy worked.
