Amy Lee and Lzzy Hale are taking the stage together for special renditions of Linkin Park’s “Heavy” and Halestorm’s “Break In” on their current tour

Evanescence and Halestorm set out on their co-headlining fall and winter tour last weekend, and as highly rumored, frontwomen Amy Lee and Lzzy Hale took to the stage to perform a duet together on opening night. The two powerhouse vocalists duetted on a cover of Linkin Park’s “Heavy” during the kickoff of the tour, which took place on Friday (Nov. 5) in Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon.

The performance took place during Evanescence’s set, as Lee announced Hale coming on the stage and sat down at a grand piano. The two launched into chilling rendition of the Linkin Park song, followed by the band crashing in and adding hard-rock instrumentals, as the two vocalists stood and walked to the edge of the stage, singing next to each other.

“Heavy” was an interesting choice for Lee and Hale, as it was the lead single off Linkin Park’s last album, “One More Light,” but not one of the band’s biggest hits. The album arrived two months before singer Chester Bennington tragically committed suicide.

As expected, Lee and Hale also performed the song “Break In” together during the show. That performance took place earlier in the night during Halestorm’s set, when Lee came onstage to sing the song, which the two recorded for Halestorm’s 2020 EP, “Reimagined.”

So far, the two have performed “Heavy” and “Break In” together at all of the shows on Evanescence and Halestorm’s current tour, so chances are, that trend will continue for the rest of the run. The arena tour runs through a Dec. 18 stop in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Other songs in Evanescence’s set included tracks off their 2021 album, “The Bitter Truth,” as well as classics such as “Bring Me to Life,” “Call Me When You’re Sober” and “Going Under.” Halestorm performed a range of songs from their entire catalog, including their 2021 single, “Back from the Dead.”
