Judas Priest will return to North America next year with Queensrychce as openers in place of Sabaton

Judas Priest have announced the full roster of rescheduled dates for their “50 Heavy Metal Years” North American tour for 2022. Sabaton were lined up to open on the original trek, but Queensryche have been tapped to take their place.

Judas Priest had to postpone the remaining dates of their fall 2021 North American tour when guitarist Richie Faulkner suffered a major heart emergency onstage during the metal group’s performance Louder Than Life festival in September. Faulkner’s aorta ruptured during the show, and he was taken to a nearby hospital where he underwent a 10-hour surgery that saved his life.

Faulkner is back home and recovering. He recently posted an update for fans, stating, “I’m walking well and moving freely. I’m pretty active and I’m starting cardiac therapy very soon. I’m playing guitar everyday and with the love and support of my family, the continued support from you guys and the inspiration that I get from the guitar, I’ll be back on stage in no time! My surgeons are very pleased with my progress and have all reserved front row tickets for the next Priest show haha.”

Faulkner is expected to appear on Judas Priest’s upcoming run. The tour will set off March 4 in Peoria, Illinois, and run through an April 13 date in Hamilton, Ontario. View the full roster for Judas Priest’s 2022 “50 Heavy Metal Years” North American tour below.
