The 2022 Grammy Awards have been moved from January to April and from Los Angeles to Las Vegas

Organizers behind the 2022 Grammy Awards have announced a new air date and location for the event. Earlier this month, the Recording Academy announced this year’s Grammy event would change due to the ongoing pandemic and highly contagious omicron variant.

The ceremony is shifting from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and will take place this April. The show was originally set for Jan. 31 date at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. The new date is scheduled for April 3 at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena.

“The Daily Show’s” Trevor Noah will host the event. He was slated to host the January edition, as well. The evening, billed as “Music’s Biggest Night,” will air on CBS at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. The ceremony will also be available to watch live and on demand on Paramount+. Additional events are forthcoming.

“We are excited to take the Grammys to Las Vegas for the very first time, and to put on a world-class show. From the moment we announced the postponement of the original show date, we have been inundated with heartfelt messages of support and solidarity from the artist community,” the Recording Academy’s Harvey Mason Jr. said in a statement.

He added, “We are humbled by their generosity and grateful for their unwavering commitment to the Grammy Awards and the Academy’s mission. We appreciate the leadership CBS and our production partners at Fulwell 73 have shown during these challenging weeks and the flexibility of everyone who worked toward this solution.”

The 2022 nominees for Best Rock Performance at the Grammy Awards include AC/DC for “Shot in the Dark,” Black Pumas for “Know You Better (Live From Capitol Studio A),” the late Chris Cornell for “Nothing Compares 2 U,” Deftones for “Ohms” and Foo Fighters (pictured above) for “Making a Fire.” Check out more of the rock and metal 2022 Grammy Award nominees here.
