Guns N’ Roses Prepping on an Entire Album of New Music, Slash Says
Slash on new Guns N’ Roses music: ‘We’ll probably keep putting it out until the entire record’s worth of stuff is done and then put it out solid’
Guns N’ Roses are back, and we’re not just talking about touring. The longstanding rock ‘n’ roll band released two new songs last year, and they have more on the way.
According to guitarist Slash, the rock band plans to keep releasing new music until a full album is completed. Speaking in a new interview, he says that new music is coming soon.
“There’s new Guns material coming out as we speak, and we’ll probably keep putting it out until the entire record’s worth of stuff is done and then put it out solid,” Slash said in an interview with Classic Rock magazine. “It’s cool. I’m enjoying working on the stuff and having a good time doing it.”
It’s nice to see Slash “enjoying” working with Axl Rose and Duff McKagan again. No word yes on what the rest of the lineup on the record will look like.
Slash can be trusted, too, as he was the one who first revealed that Guns N’ Roses’ new singles, “Absurd” and “Hard Skool,” would be out in 2021, and he was right. Both came from the “Chinese Democracy” period of the band but were rerecorded with the group’s current lineup.
Slash also opened up about his friendship with Rose. The guys had a major falling out after Slash left the group in 1996 – and, let’s face it, none of the Guns N’ Roses members were getting along at that time – but things are much butter now, he says.
“When we got together, Axl and I really got over this major sort of hump of negativity that we’ve been carrying around for years and years,” Slash said of getting back with Guns N’ Roses in 2016. “It was a real simple, relatively short conversation that we had… In all these years that we’ve been apart, he’s become super-f***ing professional. And he’s never missed a beat during this whole time. So it’s been great.”
