A dollop of heavy metal acts have been tapped to perform at the 2022 Tattoo the Earth festival in Worcester, Massachusetts
The Tattoo the Earth festival is back for the first time in 20 years. The music and tattoo art festival originally took place from 2000-2002 and brought some of the biggest names in heavy music. Now, the event is back as a one-day festival, boasting headlining appearances from Anthrax and Black Label Society.
Tattoo the Earth will take place at The Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Aug. 27. In addition to headliners Anthrax and Black Label Society, the festival will feature metal acts Hatebreed, At the Gates, Municipal Waste, Enforced and more to be announced.
At the festival, expect to find a tattoo village hosted by Massachusetts tattoo shop Zaza Ink, as well as a festival village with arts events, piercing, body painting and contests. There will also be food trucks and a Bacon & Bourbon tent.
Organizers say they are purposely bringing an early-2000s feel to the festival. “When I wrote ‘Caravan of Pain: The True Story of the Tattoo The Earth Tour,’ I never imagined it would bring the show back to life,” Tattoo The Earth founder Scott Alderman said in a statement. “Doing the show with the original promoter, Mass Concerts, and having Hatebreed on the bill, who were one of the 2000 tour breakout bands, is going to make for an amazing event.”
