Limp Bizkit Could Work on New Album Later This Year
Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit says the band is raring to start working on new music
Limp Bizkit returned after a lengthy hiatus with a new album, “Still Sucks,” last year, but that’s only the beginning. According to longtime guitarist Wes Borland, the group could begin working on another new record later in 2022.
“Still Sucks” was a major release for Limp Bizkit, as it marked the band’s first studio album since 2011’s “Gold Cobra.” Fred Durst and company released a few single between “Gold Cobra” and “Still Sucks,” but nothing more than that. Then, the group debuted a new song, “Dad Vibes,” at Lollapalooza in 2021, and revealed a new album was on the way.
Speaking with PRS Guitars, Borland said the band is pumped to finally have a full new album out. Plus, the guys are still creating.
“I’m so thrilled to be able to finally add new material to our set. I mean, we already switch our set around every night and make changes and additions to it while we’re in the middle of shows, but to actually add new material (not covers, or deep cuts off of older albums that we haven’t played in a long time for example: we recently knocked the dust off of ‘Nobody Loves Me’ from our first album) has been a treat for me personally,” Borland said in the interview. “The older songs are so hardwired into my brain that it’s nice to kind of wake up the mental muscles that are in charge of handling new data.”
He added, “Now that ‘Still Sucks’ has kind of cleared our pipes, I feel that the camaraderie and creativity within the group is at an all-time high. I wouldn’t be surprised if a new album is in the works shortly after our 2022 touring concludes. Anything is possible.”
Limp Bizkit will kick off their 2022 “Still Sucks” tour on April 28 in Tampa, Florida. Find the band’s upcoming tour dates here.
