Lamb of God Announce New Album, ‘Omens,’ and Tour with Killswitch Engage
Lamb of God will tour with Killswitch Engage this fall
One of metal’s biggest names, Lamb of God, are gearing up to release a new album, called “Omens,” and hit the road on a major fall tour. For the tour, they’re taking Killswitch Engage along for the ride, as well as a handful of other metal acts.
“Omens” will hit stores on Oct. 7 and mark the band’s follow-up to their 2020 self-titled effort. Per usual, themes on the album are heavy, one being the evolving world.
“The world is crazy and keeps changing. Omens is a reaction to the state of the world,” Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe said of the upcoming album in a statement. “It’s a very pissed-off record … It is extremely pissed-off.”
Guitarist Mark Morton adds, “The inner workings of the band have never been better. You can hear it in Omens. You can see it in our performances, and if you’re around us for five minutes, you can feel it.”
The album’s first single, “Nevermore,” is due out this Friday (June 10). Meanwhile, “The Omens Tour” will set off Sept. 9 in Brooklyn, New York, and runs through on Oct. 20 date in Irving, Texas. Killswitch Engage will appear on the full run, with additional opening acts including a mix of Baroness, Suicide Silence, Motionless in White, Fit for an Autopsy, Spiritbox and Animals as Leaders on various dates. Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday (June 10) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
“Two decades ago, Lamb of God, along with Killswitch Engage, were a part of a new wave of American heavy metal music,” Morton added. “Our scene grew from a small, loosely connected network of underground shows in basements and warehouses, into a global phenomenon that helped define an entire generation of modern heavy metal. We are thrilled to announce ‘The Omens Tour,’ which celebrates not only the perseverance and impact of that original movement, but also the creativity and originality of the bands that it influenced. Heavy metal is alive and well. ‘The Omens Tour’ proudly showcases the depth and diversity of our scene. This is not a tour to miss.”
