Local Music Beat: Tension Head are back with news of a long-awaited reunion show

It’s been nearly six and a half years since popular Saginaw, Michigan, hard rock band Tension Head has taken the stage together. Now, to the delight of many fans, the band has announced a long-awaited reunion gig on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at The Vault in Saginaw. The Lonely Ones, Silverspork and Miscreants are also on the bill.

The reunion show is for a good cause, too. It’s free admission, but the band is accepting donations at the door with all proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish of Michigan. For more information, go here.

Tension Head features vocalist C.P. Rossio, bass player Anthony Garcia, guitarist Sean Griffin and drummer JoJo Jimenez. As Garcia explains to Audio Ink Radio, the reunion show was sparked by all the online buzz about the band and the desire for fans to see them together again.

“After following the online chatter for years, and the fact that there was still so much interest in the band, we just felt that the time was right,” Garcia said. “We decided to reunite the ‘classic’ Tension Head lineup from 2005-2013, and our vocalist C.P. came up with idea to make this show a fundraiser for children with critical illnesses. This will be a free show, but we will be accepting donations at the door with all proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish of Michigan.”

Garcia says the thing he’s missed most about performing with Tension Head is “the live show atmosphere and the interaction with the fans.” At the upcoming gig, he’s looking forward to “seeing the longtime fans and getting the chance to play in front of some new faces that never got to see Tension Head the first time around.”

So, is the band open to the idea of playing more shows in the future? “We have no plans as of now,” Garcia said, “so we’re encouraging everyone to make a plan to come out, have a good time, and help us raise some money for Make-A-Wish of Michigan.”
