Doro Celebrating 40th Anniversary with New Album, Major Shows
Doro is celebrating her 40th year in music with a new album, “Conqueress – Forever Strong and Proud”
There’s a reason Doro is considered the metal queen. The longstanding singer and songwriter was one of the earliest women to rule the heavy metal genre, both heading up her band Warlock and releasing solo music. Now, Doro, whose real name is Dorothee Pesch, will release her new album, “Conqueress – Forever Strong and Proud,” on Oct. 27. The 19-song set will be available worldwide via Nuclear Blast.
Doro recorded “Conqueress – Forever Strong and Proud” in different studios around the world. A press release promises the upcoming album to be a “phenomenal album and the result of intensive, hard work that took the incomparable singer and songwriter back to the studios of Miami, New York, and Hamburg, among others. The album impressively confirms that Doro is at the height of her creative powers.”
Ahead of the album’s release, Doro has released the set’s first single, “Time for Justice,” and a high-energy “Mad Max”-style music video to go with it. Furthermore, “Time for Justice” is classic Doro, with huge riffing, sharp guitar soloing and Doro’s powerful pipes. The album comes as Doro celebrates her 40th anniversary in music. In addition, to commemorate the special landmark, she has booked two high-profile appearances in Germany. First, Doro will play at the Wacken Open Air festival on Aug. 2. Secondly, she’ll hold a special anniversary concert on Oct. 28 in Düsseldorf. Moreover, Doro has some European tour dates booked for now through 2024. View her upcoming tour roster via her official website.
Doro recently spoke with Audio Ink Radio about the 25th anniversary of her classic album “Triumph and Agony.” Of the album, she said, “I remember the recoding like it was yesterday! We had great touring moments. In Europe, we toured with the legendary Ronnie James Dio and became great friends. Then, then in America we did the great tour with Megadeth and Sanctuary, and I became friends with the guys of Megadeth and Sanctuary. It was the best memories.”
