Creed Reunion: Band Announces First Show in More Than a Decade
Creed reunion: The legendary post-grunge band will break their hiatus to headline the Summer of ’99 Cruise
The Creed reunion is on. Creed have been teasing fans about a special announcement, and now, the news is out. The legendary post-grunge band will headline the Summer of ’99 Cruise in 2024, alongside a bevy of other rock bands from the late-1990s era. Bring out the flared pants and flannel.
The show marks Creed’s first gig in more than a decade, as their last concert was in December 2012, at the end of their first reunion tour. Previously, the group broke up in 2004 and got together just a few years later, in 2009. They haven’t toured or released new music since the 2012 show.
In addition to Creed, the Summer of ’99 Cruise lineup will boast 3 Doors Down, Buckcherry, Tonic, Fuel, Vertical Horizon, The Verve Pipe, Tantric, Dishwalla, Nine Days and Veruca Salt’s Louise Post. The cruise will set sail on the Norwegian Pearl on April 18 from Miami. From there, it will head to Nassau, Bahamas, before returning on April 22. Hosting the event will be radio personality Eddie Trunk and the stars of AXS TV’s “The Power Hour.”
A pre-sale for tickets begins July 25 and runs through July 27. Those interested in getting tickets may sign up for the pre-sale now via the cruise’s official website now. A public on-sale will begin July 28. Also, the first 500 cabins booked will get a photo opportunity with Creed.
Creed features singer Scott Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti, bass player Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips. In the years follow’s Creed’s last reunion show, Tremonti, Marshall, and Phillips have released new music and toured as Alter Bridge with vocalist Myles Kennedy. Also, Stapp has released some solo albums and toured.
As for Creed’s headlining slot, they’ll perform two sets on the Norwegian Pearl’s Pool Deck stage during the cruise. On top of the band performances, the cruise will host a Q&A with Creed, activities with various musicians, and a “Y2K Countdown” theme party.
