Godsmack Announce a Very Different 2024 Theater Tour
Godsmack are embarking on a very unique 2024 theater tour, which will see the guys stripped-down and doing some storytelling
Godsmack is the kind of band that you expect to see totally plugged in and amped up. With songs like “I Stand Alone,” “When Legends Rise” and “Bulletproof,” these guys are simply heavy. I’ve seen Godsmack live in concert many times, and they always blow me away with how solid and tight they are live. But, they’ve been together since the 1990s, so it’s obvious Sully Erna and the guys have built up a great musical chemistry and stage presence over the years.
The last time I saw Godsmack was just a few months ago, on tour with Staind. Find my concert review and photos here. Godsmack was on fire, literally, with all the pyro the band used. Now, however, Godsmack and getting intimate with their fans, as the band has announced a major 2024 tour that’s completely stripped down.
The new tour will see Godsmack performing in intimate theater venues across North America. According to a press release about the tour, Godsmack is “set to deliver a series of intimate evenings featuring acoustic/electric performances and untold stories in theatres across North America.” That implies some actual storytelling from the guys, which is a first for Godsmack.
The first leg of the tour will kick off on Feb. 15 in Catoosa, Oklahoma, and the second leg will begin April 9 in Valley Center, California. The shows will keep Godsmack on the road from February through May, so it’s shaping up to be a busy spring for them.
As for tickets, an artist pre-sale will start Wednesday (Nov. 29) at 10 a.m. local time. Additional pre-sales will run throughout the week, and the general on-sale will begin Friday (Dec. 1) at 10 a.m. local time. For tickets and more information, head to Godsmack.com/tour.
Godsmack is touring in support of the group’s eighth studio album, “Lighting Up the Sky.” Erna has said at numerous times that the album could be the band’s final one, but he also has said they aren’t retiring. Time will tell what the future holds for Godsmack, but for now, they seem to be moving full steam ahead with live shows.
