Super Bowl LVIII is set for Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a lifelong Lions fan, I really thought this was the year the Detroit Lions would actually make it to the Big Game. But, the Lions fell in the NFC Championship game to the San Francisco 49ers. Then, the other team I wanted to see make it, the Baltimore Ravens, lost in the AFC Championship game to the Kansas City Chiefs. So, now we have a quite boring Super Bowl. At least, in my opinion. We have two teams who have often made it there: the 49ers and Chiefs. Of course, the Chiefs are even the reigning Super Bowl champions. Also, yes, we’ll see lots of Taylor Swift on the screen, as she and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce are a hot couple.

But, let’s get into the music of this all. I’m here to tell you about how Creed, yes the ’90s and 2000s rock band, is featured in a new Super Bowl commercial, and it’s wild.

A new Super Bowl commercial from Paramount+ features the likes of Creed alongside Patrick Stewart and Drew Barrymore, as well as cartoon characters Arnold from “Hey Arnold!” and Peppa Pig. It’s so weird but also very entertaining. The video, called “Sir Patrick Stewart Does a Hail Arnold,” also features Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, “Survivor” host Jeff Probst, “Reno 911” actor Thomas Lennon, Dora the Explorer, Knuckles from “Sonic the Hedgehog” and others.

The clip has all of those celebrities trapped at an icy canyon on Paramount Mountain. So, what do they do? They have Stewart throw Arnold and his “football-shaped head” to the highest point of the mountain with a rope, in hopes that they can all climb. Is this a good idea? Probably not. As the celebrities discuss what to do, Creed’s “Higher” begins to play, and the footage pans to Creed’s Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti performing the famed song. “And Creed’s here,” Barrymore says. Then, all the celebrities start singing along to “Higher.” It is a catchy song, right? Finally, Stewart helps Arnold move up the mountain. Watch the wacky new Super Bowl commercial below.

This isn’t the first wacky Paramount+ Super Bowl ad. A few weeks ago, they released an ad starring Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Peppa Pig.

If you’re wondering, yes, you can watch the Super Bowl on Paramount+ on Feb. 11. The game will also air on CBS, the NFL Network and YouTube TV.

In other news, Creed are having a huge year. The band has sold out both of their upcoming reunion cruises. They’re also gearing up to hit the road on a major reunion tour this summer. Moreover, the band’s song “Higher” got a big boost when it was used for World Series champions the Texas Rangers.

Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti recently told Audio Ink Radio that he believes Creed will release new music down the road, too. “When I’m writing songs, and I go over ideas, I’m like, ‘Wow. That would be a great Creed song,’ and I kind of hold it aside for that day that it happens,” he explained.
