Mark Tremonti to Give Guitar Clinics While on Creed Tour

Mark Tremonti of Creed is wildly known as one of the greatest guitarists of his generation. This isn’t hyperbole, either. Creed came up during a time when the guitar was minimized in rock music, or at least the guitar solo. Think about it. Grunge rules in the 1990s, and while that genre of music was certainly reliant on great guitars, those guitars were very lo-fi and messy, the total opposite of grandiose guitar soloing in hair metal.
Enter Mark Tremonti. He brought the heavy metal guitar and guitar solo back to popular rock music. Creed became one of the biggest rock bands on the planet in the late-1990s and early-2000s, and suddenly the guitar solo was cool again. So, who better to learn how to play guitar from than the man himself, Tremonti?

Tremonti will spend much of this year on the road on a Creed reunion tour. While he’s touring, he’ll also be doing some special Mark Tremonti guitar clinics. The clinics will take place in the various cities where Creed is performing this summer and fall. So, there are plenty of opportunities to get some guitar know-how from Tremonti.

Tremonti spoke with Audio Ink Radio in December about the positive response Creed is having to their reunion tour. “The funny thing is everything happened naturally at once, with all the hype with the Rangers playing the music and Vikings playing the music,” he said. “Just the other night, my kid showed me a clip of the Green Bay Packers playing ‘Higher’ at the stadium. It’s a great coincidence that Creed is coming back into the fold in popular culture, which has been great for us, since we just planned the tour at the same time.”
